It replaced a terrible plastic nut that was also cut way too low, so the upgrade was incredible. The nut that came with my Gibson LP is miserable. The high e slot is too low, the g slot was too shallow and the string would pop out if I bent it too far. Plus it looks bad, it doesn't have that nice curve that follows the radius, it's I installed the Graph Tech, Tusq XL on my 2007 "Gibson" Les Paul custom.
